BEI is a student-run nonprofit organization with the mission to help seniors living with Alzheimer's thrive, all the while creating intergenerational connections between our residents and college volunteers. Consisting of simple brain exercises, reading out loud, trivia, and math, complied in fun 30-40 minute sessions. BEI hopes to foster an environment that creates lifelong friendships between the volunteers and their residents.

The Brain Exercise Initiative x Perfect Pair collaboration will allow us to provide the BEI math and reading exercise packets as an option for our memory care resident-student pairs. See the BEI activity in our Memory Care Activity Catalog here.

Dementia Friendly

Dementia Friendly Saline is a nonprofit based in, but not limited to, Saline MI. We seek to make day-to-day living in communities such as Saline less difficult for persons living with dementia. We offer free workshops to show business people, government personnel, clergy, and other community members how easy it is to make small adjustments that will make it easier for persons with dementia to interact with them. We offer information and support to persons with dementia and their caregivers, along with social activities where they can connect to other persons on the unwelcome journey.

Perfect Pair works with Dementia Friendly Saline to train our executive board and volunteers. We are so lucky to work with a meaningful grassroots organization to make sure that we can best serve our memory care residents.

Pioneer Network

Our Vision: A culture of Aging that’s life-affirming, satisfying, humane and meaningful… that’s what Pioneer Network, a national not-for-profit organization, is all about.

We’re working hard to create a culture where elders’ individual voices are solicited and welcomed, heard, and respected. Our primary goal is to move eldercare to a place where all care and support are person-directed, not system-directed… where flexibility and self-determination are embraced and  practiced.

This concept is known as culture change, and Pioneer Network is recognized as the national leader of this movement.

Pioneer Network is pleased to share a variety of tools and  resources with the volunteers and leaders at Perfect Pair who are helping to create connections between seniors and college students.
