Match Highlight-- Sarah & Ms. Judy

Updated: Oct 22

Meet Sarah and Ms. Judy from Perfect Pair at the University of Georgia!

Sarah and Ms. Judy were paired due to their love for art and storytelling, and their friendship has blossomed into one of the closest bonds we’ve seen in our chapter. Their meetings are filled with heartfelt conversations, creative activities, and a shared love for the outdoors. Whether they’re painting pumpkins for Halloween, refilling the bird feeder, or working on Ms. Judy’s glass art projects, they always find ways to make their time together special. Sarah’s thoughtful gestures, like bringing Ms. Judy paintings or painting her nails in her favorite colors, have truly brightened Ms. Judy’s days, even during challenging times when her memory or health has declined.

Sarah has remained a constant source of joy and comfort for Ms. Judy. They’ve enjoyed countless outdoor moments together, watching the birds from Ms. Judy’s favorite spot in the courtyard or taking walks around the facility. Sarah has also helped Ms. Judy through stressful moments, like when she was moving to a new room or when she was recovering from a fall. Sarah would also bring photos of her nieces and nephews and share stories from her own life, which Ms. Judy loved to hear.

One of the most special parts of their friendship is their shared creativity. Ms. Judy is a talented painter, and Sarah has helped her rediscover her passion for art. They’ve painted together during resident art parties and spent afternoons going through Ms. Judy’s painting supplies, which Sarah was more than happy to organize with her. Ms. Judy even gifted Sarah one of her treasured paintings, a gesture that touched Sarah deeply.

Their friendship has had a profound impact not only on each other but also on the whole facility. When Sarah and Ms. Judy are together, their energy brightens the room, and their presence brings a positive atmosphere to everyone around them. Ms. Judy is always eager to introduce Sarah as "my girl" to the other residents, a sweet sign of the strong bond they share.

We love this pair, and it’s clear they have become more than just a volunteer and resident – they are true friends. Sarah’s consistent care, understanding, and unwavering commitment to making Ms. Judy feel loved have made this match one of the strongest we’ve seen!
